The Honeymoon

So everyone has been wondering where Karina and I are going on Honeymoon, and also, why the big secret about it? Here goes…

The original honeymoon plan

Those people that know me, know that I’m a go big or go home type of guy and this honeymoon was going to be no different. The reason why I wanted to keep it a secret was that it was going to blow Karina’s mind! We were going to start off by flying to Dubai for a 12 hour stop over, then onto the Maldives for 7 nights of pure bliss and back to Dubai for 3 nights exploring the worlds most exciting city as well as go shopping!

I had everything planned. The flight schedules were perfectly timed, accomodation in a water bungalow reserved in Maldives and we were set.

Then one day, while trying to finalise all of it, in between work AND worrying about where Karina and I were going to live after our wedding, I walked into this amazing little place, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms with the main bedroom taking up the entire upstairs part and a river running behind the house. I instantly knew this is where I wanted to spend the next couple of years with Karina – and I bought a house.

So, as you can see this hoenymoon was definitely a secret worth keeping until the last minute. It really was a dream holiday for me and Karina, but at the end of the day, the smart move was buying a home.

But Jason, where did you go on honeymoon then?

The Maldives will have to wait for another time, but… not to kill the dream completely, we are off to Mauritius for 7 days of relaxation and fun in the sun! The photos below are of the place where we are staying.

I’m really excited about this honeymoon as both Karina and I love traveling. Mauritius isn’t the most original idea for a honeymoon (but it is still amazing!) and I would never of kept it a secret if it was plan A, but I thought I’d keep everyone in suspense anyway and get you to visit the website to see!
